Case 1: Tako-Tsubo Cardiomyopathy

A 55-yr old lady who presented with acute onset chest pain and troponin rise. Her diagnostic invasive coronary angiography was normal. She recently had bereavement in the immediate family.



2CH / 4CH / 3CH Cine: Classical apical ballooning with preserved basal contraction.


Tissue characterisation: A) LGE SA: no evidence of myocardial infarction. B) Native T1 map SA: significantly raised T1 values in mid ventricle suggestive of myocardial oedema.
