4CH/3CH cine: Restrictive opening of the thickened MV leaflets particular the posterior one. The classical sign of ‘hockey stick’ can be seen for the anterior MV leaflet. Severely dilated LA. Note also some aortic stenosis and regurgitation.
SA Cine/frame: Short axis cine demonstrating similar findings plus fusion of the tips of MV leaflets. MVA= 1.2cm2, consistent with a diagnosis of moderate rheumatic mitral stenosis.
